Adults commonly visit flowers including Lantana, Jatropha and Catunaregam. Males can be found puddling in moist areas to take up minerals.
This species is found throughout the year in open areas in secondary forest, along river courses, on open grassland, and even in deserts.
After mating the female lays eggs individually or in small clusters on the leaves of the host plant. Th caterpillar feeds on the host plant until it forms its chrysalis.
In their range there are multiple generations making it possible to find adults year round.
This butterfly earned its name as a result of its migration behaviors. The adults can be observed flying in groups from one breeding site to another.
