Silverspot butterflies are found moving throughout open tropical forest and the surrounding areas.
After mating, female Silverspot butterflies lay their eggs in clusters on host plants. Once the eggs hatch the larvae gregariously feed on the host plant. Once the caterpillar is done eating the host plant it forms a pupa.
In the northernmost part of their range, adults are found April thru December. While in the warmer southern locations there are multiple generations and adults can be found year round.
The silver spots located on the underside of the wings are not only silver in color, but are actually able to reflect light.
